Pointspay delivers world first for Dutch consumers as Flying Blue+ goes live

Consumers across The Netherlands can now benefit from a new way to shop, thanks to the introduction of Flying Blue+, a Pointspay-powered online payment solution launched by Flying Blue, the loyalty programme of Air France and KLM.

Launched in The Netherlands on 4 March, Flying Blue+ enables members of the popular frequent flyer programme to earn and spend Miles in real-time at a wide range of online shops. Members simply go to their favourite participating online store and shop as they usually do, select Flying Blue+ as the payment method at checkout, login to their Flying Blue account and choose how many Miles they would like to earn and/or spend. Members also have the option of paying with a combination of Miles and card payment using a handy points-plus-cash slider.

Flying Blue+ enables members to spend Miles from the programme in the form of loyalty currency, increasing their spending power. At the same time, members can collect Miles on everyday shopping, bringing rewards such as upgrades, or flights to dream destinations, within reach faster than ever.

Brands offering the Flying Blue+ payment option at launch include OFM, Zinzi, Tours & Tickets, Van Arendonk, Purdey and Travelbags, amongst others, with many more top brands lined up to join over the coming months, including Rituals, Luxury Escapes, No Label and Siebel. Flying Blue members in France will be able to benefit from this new solution later this year.
